My name is Ritika Bhattacharjee (RIH-tih-kuh BAH-tuh-CHAR-jee), and I'm a Bengali-American composer, conductor, pianist, and mezzo-soprano based out of Austin, TX! I studied chemical engineering and music composition, and I'm passionate about making inspiration accessible to everybody through art. I love inline skating, I have two cats, and I also work as a business consultant.

Ritika Bhattacharjee is a Bengali-American composer, pianist, and mezzo-soprano who plays for dance productions and ballet classes, sings with many professional ensembles, and underscores fully-improvised musicals and performances at every major improv theatre in Austin (most notably, The Hideout). She recently conducted the Socrates Symphony Orchestra for a masterclass with Eduardo Portal in Manchester, UK, orchestrated the music for the HPE x Sphere (Vegas) Summer 2025 Keynote, and conducted her original video game score live for SXSW 2025. She also orchestrated the 2024 Coca-Cola holiday commercial music, released in 15 countries. Her multi-media composition portfolio includes the scores for short films, video games, apps, string quartets, choral works, a contemporary ballet, and a musical. She began studying piano and voice at the age of 5 and went on to earn degrees in chemical engineering and film scoring. Bhattacharjee is signed with Graphite Publishing, where her choral work is available for purchase. She is currently pursuing her Master's at Berklee College of Music.
Ritika Bhattacharjee (B.S. in Chemical Engineering ‘22, minor in Performance Studies from Texas A&M University, Graduate Diploma in Film Scoring from the European Academy of Fine Arts, M.F.A. in Music Interdisciplinary Studies from Berklee College of Music) is a composer, conductor, pianist, and mezzo-soprano based out of Austin, TX. As a performing artist, she has most recently been invited to Amsterdam’s IMPRO 2025 as the festival's Musical Director and American delegate on the international performing team. She was invited as a teaching artist for "The Big Sing" festival in Barcelona in Summer 2025. Her past work orchestrating the music for the 2024 and 2025 Coca-Cola holiday commercials and the HPE x Sphere (Vegas) Summer 2025 Keynote led to her selection as part of the Vancouver International Film Festival's AMP 2025 Cohort. She has conducted the European Recording Orchestra in the Bulgarian National Radio Hall in Sofia as they recorded her original compositions for film. Recently, she conducted players from The Royal Northern College in a masterclass with Eduardo Portal in Manchester, UK. Bhattacharjee sings with Austin Cantorum, Inversion, Da Capo Ensemble, and Panoramic Voices, and has been commissioned as a composer by Panoramic Voices, See Change Treble Chorus (Minneapolis), KMFA Radio for SXSW 2025, and Performa/Dance Company. As a pianist, she accompanies classes for Austin Community Ballet and has played for Ventana Ballet. Her multi-media composition portfolio includes the scores for short films, video games, apps, string quartets, choral works, a contemporary ballet, and a musical.
While studying at Texas A&M, Bhattacharjee served as the past president and founder of Ingeniare, the all-engineering choir, and the past ensemble leader for Binomial Rhapsody, a band of engineering students who compose music from math equations and regularly perform arrangements and covers. She has worked as a voice-over assistant for the A&M College of Engineering's distance learning program, and as a teaching assistant for engineering courses. She was the lead jazz vocalist for The Aggieland Orchestra with the Corps of Cadets, a blogger for Ingenium (the TAMU Engineering Blog), a writer for the satire magazine The Mugdown, and the first student host of the official College of Engineering podcast, Soundbytes (on Spotify/Soundcloud).
While studying engineering, she served as a research assistant with the NASA-affiliated Lithium-Ion Battery Combustion research group and first-authored a publication on thermodynamic catastrophic failure models. She previously worked as an R&D food engineer for PepsiCo Frito-Lay and in technical sales for the industrial gas and specialty chemicals industry. Bhattacharjee currently works as a management consultant with Accenture.
Bhattacharjee is signed with Graphite Publishing, where her choral work is available for purchase. Outside of her work, she enjoys inline skating, hot air balloon rides, playing tabla, electric bass, and tenor sax, and spending time with her friends and two kittens.
